Apartment Refresh

Did a little refresh in our loft. This area of our house, which is accessible by ladder, used to be unbearable in the summer months, and many afternoons, regardless of season. After we got A/C put in, I started spending a lot more time up here doing my writing, meditation, yoga and sewing. And it has since become known as My Apartment.

Plants!

I found this article while doing my daily peruse on Pinterest:

5 things that take a room from good to great. Listed at #2, are house plants (the right rug is #1). I’m always encouraging all my clients to hop on the plant wagon. "But I kill plants", you say.

Not to worry! For you of the black thumb varieties, I recommend the Sansevieria

This is the heartiest houseplant I've ever found. It will grow in almost any condition and barely needs water. When you walk in the door after being away for three weeks, this plant will still be alive. Not only alive, it will be thriving. Low light or no light? No problem. This is as low maintenance a houseplant as you'll ever find. In fact, the Sansevieria could be the Dalai Lama of the plant world: peaceful, selfless, with very little material need or demand.

If you do alright with plants, in that they don't die on you and you remember to water when necessary, then the world is your oyster!...the greenhouse, your playground!...the forest, your field

remember- plants can take a room from good to great. they are not a fix-all for a poorly planned room.

let’s plan your next project together!
